Week 1 has passed and overall I am rather pleased in all aspects. I am able to fit in quite comfortably. Work wise, I was stumped at the very first assignment given to me. Even so I feel optimistic about my time here because I know I will be able to learn and pick up some hard skills. Of all things, I was tasked to do some evaluation based on a financial model. Financial modeling is rather foreign to me but it is something that I’m keen to pick up.
Yea I know I sound like an eager beaver :B let’s see how long my enthusiasm can last.
Today they caught a mouse that had been lurking at my office. The poor mouse which got half its body stuck to a sticky trap was a baby… It makes me feel so bad… The poor Jerry was still alive when the facilities management guy took it away. I saw it struggling and heard its final squeaks of terror. The fact that it was a baby which is not any bigger than my Nee Nee makes me feel so terrible for its tragic end.
This brings to mind what JW said to me yesterday. “人的命运有分贵与贱” sigh 同样是鼠类, 但命运和下场就是那么不同… There are just some things that you can’t change or control. I swear the mouse looked as cute as the one in this picture below.
