Wrap up for the year December 23, 2009

Tis’ the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la!

I’ve learnt one thing this year while doing my Xmas wrapping. The only benefit of using cellophane wrapper is that you can save a little on the sticky tape. May I emphasize, that is THE ONLY benefit, other than it looking nice. Otherwise, it is an ultimate chore if you intend to wrap many gifts at one go.

Let me explain myself.

Firstly, the cellophane paper is translucent, it will require another layer of plain paper wrapping.

Secondly, it is very difficult to cut the wrapper to the desired size as the paper slips easily.

Thirdly, it is almost impossible to fold the material unless u have three or more hands.

The effort of all the wrapping costs me almost 5 hours and a couple of late nights. Not as if the outcome was super nice cos I got sloppy halfway. I shall not try to be so ambitious next time especially when it requires wrapping more than 5 gifts at one go…

Nonetheless. After all the complaining, I still like the joy of Xmas giving very much! I hope you guys like what I’ve chosen for you!

Back on the treadmill December 15, 2009

I am back. It felt great to be able to indulge myself in a foreign city. The length of stay was just nice too. If I had stayed for a shorter time, I would feel I had deserved more; any longer and I would feel that I’m leeching on my friends too much.

Glad to be back, feeling somewhat more uplifted although not exactly over-enthusiastic about work. Nonetheless, I think I am ready for the new year I hope u are gearing up for 2010 too.

Solo flight by the escapist December 9, 2009

Yes, I made my escape from work, from Singapore

I didn’t feel the excitement of traveling this morning when I set off for Changi Airport. Perhaps it was too early (reached airport at like 6-ish am) But I did feel a bit different as my luggage was exceptionally light. Usually I’ll have to bring more if it was an official trip. While I was sipping my latte at Coffee Bean at T3 Departure Hall, I was making full use of my remaining minutes tapping on the Singapore 3G network to download as many games as possible onto my phone in case I get too bored here. Roaming 3G charges will be costly if I’m not wrong, hence I’m constantly reminding myself not to habitually go online on my iphone.

During the flight here, I was questioning myself a bit – whether or not I made a sane choice of traveling solo… Haha too late to regret. Here’s my first meal at the airport. I actually struggled to ask for tomato ketchup (should be 番茄酱，I said

茄汁 wahaha)

Btw, I’m staying at the same hip hotel though a bit disappointed with the hotel room I’m in this time. Smaller, less funky. And worse, they are demolishing a small building just across the street. Roarr… China.

Alright. I’m off to do some shopping then dinner

for the longest time, all the pictures i took on my phone ended up in the phone memory. but today, i managed to cut and paste some from the phone to the card memory. yippee!!!

Can I get some extra time, pls? November 24, 2009

Why is it that I keep feeling that I’m not getting enough personal time?

I have been so sloppy and messy recently. I misplace stuff, discover some lost belongings, lose things only to discover a long time later. My room is crazily messy, so is my work desk. My luggage is half-unpacked after returning for 3 weeks. Even my pedicure is chipped. Plus I haven’t got time for my favorite magazines.

And I blame all this to not having enough personal time.

Not that I’m that busy with work. Well, yes, I do work overtime once or twice per week, but it has not been all that energy-consuming recently.

Maybe it’s just me procrastinating too much. Maybe it’s just me having too many things going on cluttering my head. Maybe it’s just the messy room that is getting on my nerves – a vicious cycle? Ok, maybe I’m finding too many excuses for myself. haha.

Need a real detox. Of the mind. I want more time, pls.
